Childline - has rescued three children aged between 1yr and 2 yrs. Two of the children one boy & one girl  who were abandoned by their parents. The police on receiving information called up Childline  and they  were brought to the Childline and provided with shelter services. Police investigated the case and did not find their parents. After three to four months they were transferred to the District Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and on their order they were handed over to a local adoption center for adoption.

 

The third  child ( 2 years old) was rescued by Childline. A mentally challenged woman  was throwing stones to kill her. She was then rescued by a local slum woman who kept her illegally. Receiving this information the Childline reported to police and the police convinced the woman to hand over the child to Childlin who was then taken to CWC and with its order she was handed over to the adoption center.

 

 

Helpline

 Delhi police through District Child Welfare Committee handed over 5 girls  aged between 10yrs- 15yrs for shelter. They were trafficked to Delhi to work as domestic helpers in private homes and for other purposes. But due to physical and mental torture by their employers they ran away and were caught by Delhi police who sent them to Nirmal Chaya a shelter for girls based in New Delhi. Later on they were produced before CWC New Delhi.

 

After knowing that all of them were from Orissa, it sent them to CWC Khurda through Delhi police. They were then handed over to Helpline for emergency shelter services, medical examination, counseling  and it also was asked to prepare a social investigation report on these girls. After 7 days they were handed over to Nilachal Nari Seva Sadan for permanent shelter, training and rehabilitation by order of CWC, Khurda.
